Dragonspine Imperial Calendar
The calendar used throughout the Dragonspine Empire and many other, primarily human, locations. It was established in the first year of the Empire, standardizing the various calendars used by numerous regions subsumed by the Empire. It has twelve months, each with 31 days. Four festivals are interspersed among the months. Three festivals – Vorsämling, the festival celebrating the planting of crops; Mitjahr, the mid-year festival; and Todnachten, in remembrance and supplication of the dead – each lasts for two days. The final festival, Augsteig, celebrates the First Emperor’s ascension to godhood and is celebrated for three days. The calendar begins on the first day of Aufsteig and ends on the 31st of Isenzeit. Years since the founding of the Empire are designated Years of the Dragon and are abbreviated YD; years prior to the founding are the Dark Era or DE. It is currently 2217 YD.
